Find Affordable Hotels Close to Disneyland

Henri and Marilyn had promised their twin boys that they would take them to Disneyland for their tenth birthday. The loving parents had saved their money for six months so they could afford airfare from Montreal, tickets to Disney and enjoy the beaches and other attractions of sunny California. While they were planning their once in a lifetime vacation, the couple realized they would need to choose their hotel carefully. Having a tight budget, it was very important for them to find an affordable hotel that was close to Disneyland. After searching the internet for hours, they came up with a short list of four excellent candidates for accommodations.

Anaheim Express Inn Maingate
620 W. Orangewood Avenue
1-714-971-9000

When the Montreal couple saw that the Anaheim Express Inn Maingate had a fantastic summer rate of just $65 they thought that was perfect. Then, they thought that something must be wrong with the place. Maybe the property was old and the rooms were outdated? Maybe it was tucked away in a bad part of town. Well, after further investigation, they quickly changed their minds. The Anaheim Express Inn Maingate is within a short walk to Disneyland. The rooms, while not extravagant are clean, have very comfortable beds, a nice TV and plenty of other amenities. Rooms are big and the hotel can provide a roll-away bed if needed. Everyone can enjoy a refreshing dip in the pool and a free continental breakfast in the morning. For the money, this was not a bare-bones property. Henri and Marilyn put the Anaheim Express Inn at the top of their list for Anaheim accommodations.

Best Western Plus Raffles Inn & Suites
2040 S. Harbor Boulevard
1-714-750-6100

Starting at about $110 per night and going up a little bit more for a suite, this Best Western property is conveniently located close to the Entrance to Disneyland. Henri and Marilyn liked the idea of getting a Kids Suite when they checked out everything that was being offered by the BW Raffles Inn. The kids would get their own room equipped with bunk beds and their own 27 inch TV. They could get a little break at night in their own room that is separated from the kid’s room by French doors. Everything seemed pretty nice. There is a heated pool, free WiFi and a complimentary continental breakfast. The kids love those Belgian waffles! The only thing holding the Canadian couple back from making a reservation was that the price per night was about twice as much as the Anaheim Express Inn Maingate.

Embassy Suites Anaheim – South
11767 Harbor Boulevard
1-714-539-3300

Henri wanted to stay here because he once stayed at an Embassy Suites on a business trip to Toronto and fell in love with the free, cooked to order, breakfast. Marilyn, the practical one in the family, agreed that this was a beautiful all-suite hotel with all the comforts of home, but, she could not get over the price or the extra $12 per day for self parking. With prices starting at about $145 per night plus taxes, a pay-per-view movie and parking, it would work out to almost $200 per night. Yes, there were very comfortable beds, room service and a concierge, but that was not as important as saving some money. If they stayed here, everyone would have a great time, but it would mean having to give up a day at the San Diego Zoo.

Sheraton Anaheim Hotel
900 South Disneyland Drive
1-714-778-1700

This was by far the most luxurious of all the choices for Henri and Marilyn. It was also just a few steps from the hotel to Disneyland. A free shuttle takes you from the hotel to all the Disney attractions. There is a beautiful pool, a health club, delicious breakfast buffet and three onsite restaurants. The facility is set among 13 acres of gardens and a tranquil Koi pond. It was a great place to stay, but with a starting price of $149, it was really stretching their budget.

All of the hotels were close to Disneyland and offered comfortable accommodations. A week at the Anaheim Express Inn, however, could save the cash-strapped couple almost $500 over the other choices. With those savings, they could afford to go to Disneyland and the San Diego Zoo.

Amazing Attractions at Disneyland, Kids and Seniors Having Fun!

The dream you had as a child is finally coming true, you are going to Disneyland in California! No matter your age there are several things you can do while at Disneyland other than just riding the rides, eating junk food, and shaking the characters hands with the younger kids. Many people will find that there is so much more to do while at Disneyland that it will add to their enjoyment of their visit. For example, if you do not want to ride any rides than take the time and check out the shows that are there.

There are different shows for different ages, but do not let this stop you from going to watch a show. For adults, there are the “Great Moments with Mr. Lincoln” or as many adults remember the ever-popular show on television called “The Hillbilly’s”, is yet another show that the adults will enjoy watching live. The shows are great as are the actors.

Another idea to relax at Disneyland can be as simple as going to the beach in the ‘Hub ‘at the end of Main Street in Disneyland. This is a very clean and great place to cool off from the California sun in the clear blue waters of the beach. When you are finished swimming, take a stroll on the beach of Disneyland and view the extraordinary displays of bronze character statues and the several floral displays.

Do not forget to get on and take a ride on the Disneyland Railroad. The railroad will take you on a tour of the entire park, and then go around the full circle again. You can even request to ride the Lilly Belle Railcar by asking a cast member at the Main Street Station if the Lilly Belle is on rails and if so than you can take the ride in a historic railcar.

The Lilly Belle Railcar has been a special car that carries VIPs in it. At one time years past the Lilly Belle required purchased tickets to ride, however, it has changed now meaning the conductor or guide will give tickets to ride it and you can save these as a souvenir in a picture frame when you get home. The reason you need an escort on the Lilly Belle is due to it being the original historical railcar that Walt himself rode in, and with that, some people that rode in the Lilly Belle had been stealing some items that belonged to Walt Disney causing it to become a supervised and requested ride.

After the long day at the park, beach, and Disneyland Railroad you are ready to relax and enjoy the evening before the trip is over if you have only a one-day visit scheduled. Adults if you have old enough children to trust to stay playing at Disneyland California then it is time to enjoy a nice glass of wine while sitting in the peace and quiet of the Wine Country Trattoria which has a patio, located in the California Adventure part of Disneyland. Not only a great place for a glass of wine and to relax but also you can sit in the quiet patio-watching guests walking around.

A Sunny Summer Trip to Anaheim

Take a trip to the beautiful city of Anaheim, California this summer for all of your entertainment needs and desires. The pride and joy of Orange County, this pretty CA city is the perfect destination for individuals and groups alike, with much to offer all demographics and age groups. The climate, contrary to popular belief, is actually quite moderate, only reaching the mid-80s during the hot summer months, on average. So, you can enjoy yourself without worrying so much about the lasting and powerful effects of the summer sun.

The attractions are plentiful and full of variety. The obvious hot spot is Disneyland, but there’s much to do beyond this as well. Disney, referred to by many as the most magical place on earth, plays home to two large amusement parks, as well as various shopping and lodging options. The resort is geared to both children and adults, and is definitely something that everyone has to visit in their lifetime.

A jaunt through the downtown area, also known as Colonial Anaheim, will offer up a beautiful day on the whole. Take in the gorgeous architecture and shop at the Center City Promenade, with lots of different outlets for consumers including the popular Downtown Farmer’s Market. You’ll find great prices down there and many friendly shop keepers who can keep you informed of the latest city events and specials. This will give you more options to try throughout your days here.

Accommodations are plentiful, and various hotels such as the Anaheim Express Inn Suites will be more than happy to work with you to find the best lodging options based on your party and length of stay. If you’re a regular beachcomber, then there are lots of ways to quench that thirst. The city sports over 42 miles of pristine and cozy beaches, allowing you to tan, play sports, and just relax in the glow of the warm California sun. Seal and Huntington Beaches in particular offer a great spot for a family day.

The nightlife here is strong and active, with lounges, bars and clubs abound. Any night of the week will provide a whole new host of bar activities and drink specials for the adults in your crew, and the music scene is not too shabby either. Enjoy a bite to eat and the dulcet sounds coming from the House of Blues or Ralph Brennan’s Jazz Kitchen. You may find that this style of music is incredibly pleasing on the ears and most conducive to the ambiance and environment out there.

Anaheim is a wonderful place to stay for any number of days; if you have a long weekend free, or you just want to get away for an undetermined amount of time, there will always be plenty to do. Several holiday deals can be found throughout the year, and the key is simply doing the proper research. But, you will not be disappointed by the strong family and entertainment traditions this city has to offer.

Anaheim’s #1-rated Attraction: The Flightdeck Air Combat Center

English: Presentation of Remember... Dreams Co...

Image via Wikipedia

 Best Attraction in Anaheim

Move over Disneyland! There is a new top attraction in the city of Anaheim that guests are clamoring to check out during their visits. The Flightdeck Air Combat Center has been rated the number-one thing to do when visiting Anaheim according to the readers of TripAdvisor. At the “Anaheim Express Inn Maingate” we strive to provide all our guests with the best recommendations for making a trip to the city memorable and worthwhile. That is why we suggest anyone interested in a fun and unique hands-on experience head to The Flightdeck Air Combat Center.

Flightdeck places guests directly into the cockpits of jets and provides one of the most realistic simulated flying experiences around. “Pilots” climb into individual authentic F-16 fighter jet cockpits for takeoffs, maneuvers and aerial combat. No detail is missed right down to audio and radio chatter in the headset each pilot wears. If fighter jet simulations seem too intense, we recommend the commercial airliner simulation flight. This simulator recreates the experience of flying a Boeing 737 commercial plane.

The staff at the Flightdeck are knowledgeable about the aircraft being simulated. Many are trained military pilots themselves and provide detailed training and help prior to the simulation. From there the fight is on as a dogfight takes place between each pilot during a 45-minute flight (the Boeing flights differ in that they’re available in 30, 60 or 90 minute sessions).

With reasonable pricing, accommodations for large groups and a simulated flight experience more realistic than most other simulators in the country it’s easy to see why the Flightdeck Air Combat Center has surpassed other popular attractions as the number-one spot in Anaheim. If you’re looking for a rush that you won’t soon forget, the “Anaheim Inn Express Maingate” suggests you definitely make it a stop on your trip.
